تأسست مجموعة التميمي في عام 1953، من قبل رئيس الشركة الراحل المؤسس، الشيخ علي التميمي. وقد تطورت المملكة العربية السعودية إلى دولة حديثة . وارتفعت مجموعة التميمي إلى مستوى التحدي للعمل بالتنسيق مع الشركاء الأجانب والمحليين لمواكبةهذا التطور . اليوم نتائج هذه الجهود جلية في كل مكان، في التجارة، في الخدمات، في الصناعة في مجال التصنيع، في كل من القطاعين العام والخاص.وهذا التطوير إنعكس علي مجموعة التميمي بإستحواذها علي أعمال المواد اللازمة لإنشاء البنية التحتية الأساسية ومن ثم ساعد على بناء الطرق، ووضع خطوط الأنابيب، وإقامة المصافي، وبناء المساكن وتوفير خدمات النقل

كما نمت احتياجات البلاد، وسعت مجموعة التميمي لتلبية ذلك بتأسيس الروابط التجارية لصناعة البتروكيماويات الحيوية. زيادة إنتاج البلاد من النفط والغاز مع خدمات صيانة الآبار البعيدة عن الشاطئ. مما يجعل الدعم الهندسي يتوفر؛ كبناء وإدارة فنادق فاخرة. تحسين الرائد في هذه القطاعات الخدمية المختلفة مثل عمليات التشغيل والصيانة، وتوزيع المواد الغذائية واستيراد المنتجات والتوزيع، والتطوير العقاري
